Amethyst
Signifying purity, passion and devotion, amethyst is often considered a spiritual stone, featuring in ancient Greek mythology as well as many religious texts and ceremonies from Jewish to Christian and Buddhist.
The most prized variety of crystal quartz, amethyst is relatively hard, and is believed to get its colour from certain iron constituents. Amethyst can be found in countries all over the world, including Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Africa, Russia and North America.
