Designing jewellery is always exciting, though occasionally there are pieces that are really special for one reason or another, and the Mythology Alchemy Feather which we designed in celebration of Alchemy, Annoushka’s recent collaboration with artist Rosie Emerson, for Art at Annoushka, was one of these pieces. The progression of a design from sketch to model and then into its final form, never fails to delight me, and of course it is always thrilling to watch as the finishing touches breathe life into a piece.
This afternoon Annoushka and I were there as the final touches were applied to the One of a Kind Mythology Alchemy Feather, created in 18 carat rose gold with green, blue, black, cognac, champagne and silver diamonds that has been made especially for the Macmillan De’Longhi Art Auction – an annual sale staged at Bonhams Auction House on September 27 2011 to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
